About Albanian Post Gallery

Albania issued its first national stamps on 5 May 1913, under the government of Ismail Qemali, only months after independence, and the Albanian Post Gallery tells the story since then. The collection runs from those first issues through the stamps of the monarchy and the communist era, rich in quantity and heavy with ideology, to the much freer designs after 1990. It is a small, quiet museum and a surprisingly good window on the country’s history. Check opening hours before you go.
