About Natural Sciences Museum

The Sabiha Kasimati Natural Sciences Museum, founded in 1948 and now part of the University of Tirana’s Faculty of Natural Sciences, displays around 3,000 specimens of Albanian wildlife, plants, rocks and minerals, from mountain bears and wolves to Adriatic fish and birds of the lagoons. Behind the displays lies a research collection of 100,000 specimens. It is old-fashioned but fascinating, and good with children. It stands on Rruga Petro Nini Luarasi, near the Grand Park.
