Dajti National Park
The mountain above the city
About Dajti National Park
Dajti National Park, established in 1966, covers the slopes of Mount Dajti above the city, about 26 kilometres east of the centre by road. From the top of the Dajti Ekspres cable car, trails lead through beech and pine forest and meadows to viewpoints, with the ruins of a late-antique castle at about 1,100 metres. Restaurants serve lunch with a view, and it is several degrees cooler than the city in summer. Bring a jacket, even in June.
