The Tanners’ Bridge, Ura e Tabakëve, is an 18th-century Ottoman stone footbridge, about eight metres long, that once carried the road from the eastern highlands over the Lana stream by the tanners’ and butchers’ quarter; livestock entered the city this way. It fell into disrepair when the river was diverted in the 1930s and was restored in the 1990s and 2000s. It now stands in a small square with a pond near the New Bazaar, a pretty stop between sights.
