About Great Mosque of Tirana (Namazgah)

The Great Mosque of Tirana, at the historic site of Namazgah near the Parliament, opened in October 2024 after more than a decade of construction; its foundation stone had been laid in 1992. With room for about 10,000 worshippers and four minarets, it is the largest mosque in the Balkans outside East Thrace. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times; dress modestly, remove your shoes and women should cover their hair. It is a short walk from Skanderbeg Square.
