About St Paul’s Cathedral

St Paul’s Catholic Cathedral, opened in 2001, is a striking modern church on Bulevardi Zhan d’Ark, near the Lana river. Its best-known feature is a stained-glass window showing Mother Teresa, who was of Albanian origin, and Pope John Paul II, who visited Albania in 1993. The bright interior is calm and simple. It is a short walk from Skanderbeg Square and makes a good stop on a tour of the city’s religious buildings, alongside the mosques and the Orthodox cathedral.
