About Mother Teresa Square

Mother Teresa Square closes the southern end of the main boulevard, framed by the University of Tirana, designed by Gherardo Bosio in 1940, the Archaeological Museum and the Academy of Sciences. Mother Teresa, born to an Albanian family in Skopje in 1910, is honoured across the country, and Tirana’s airport bears her name. The square is grand and spacious, lovely at sunset, and the Grand Park begins just behind. The Air Albania Stadium and Arena Center stand a few steps away.
