The restored old bazaar of Krujë climbs a cobbled street to the castle gate, its wooden shops selling carpets, kilims, felt caps, embroidery, copper, antiques and communist-era curiosities. It is the best-known bazaar in Albania for crafts, so compare prices and ask where pieces are made; some are made on the spot in the workshops. Cafés along the way have terraces with views over the plain. Come in the morning, before the tour buses arrive.
