About Reka Pastry

Reka Pastry is a family business with a long story: it was founded in 1924 by Mustafa Reka, and today his great-grandchildren run two shops, one at the New Bazaar and one in Komuna e Parisit. The family says the shop became famous for the cake at King Zog’s wedding in 1938. Today it sells celebration cakes, ice cream and traditional sweets such as llokume, the Albanian version of Turkish delight. Stop at the New Bazaar shop for something sweet after a tour of the market.
