Fifty-three British soldiers, many of them intelligence agents of the Special Operations Executive, lost their lives in Albania during the Second World War. This small cemetery in the Grand Park holds the graves of 46 of them; it was only established by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in 1995, because their story was long suppressed in communist Albania. It is a quiet, well-kept corner of the park, and a moving stop on a walk around the lake.
