About Pogradec & Lake Ohrid
Pogradec curves along the south-western shore of Lake Ohrid, one of Europe’s oldest and deepest lakes, with more than 200 endemic species; the Albanian shore joined the UNESCO World Heritage listing in 2019. The town has a long promenade, lakeside restaurants serving koran, the lake trout, and views across to North Macedonia. St Naum monastery is just over the border. Swim from the beaches at Drilon or Tushemisht in summer.
