The Osumi river has cut a deep, winding canyon through limestone near Çorovodë, about 60 kilometres south-east of Berat, one of the most spectacular natural sights in Albania. When the water is high, roughly from February to June, operators run rafting trips through Class II rapids under waterfalls; in summer, when the river drops, tubing and walks with swimming in pools take over. The canyon rim has viewpoints by the road. Book through a Berat-based operator and check conditions.
