About Marubi National Museum of Photography
The Marubi National Museum of Photography in Shkodër displays the extraordinary archive of the Marubi studio, founded in 1856 by the Italian painter and photographer Pietro Marubbi and run by three generations of photographers until the 1950s. Some 500,000 negatives record portraits and scenes of Albanian life over a century. The museum, designed by Casanova + Hernandez, opened on the pedestrian street.
