About Kaninë Castle
Kaninë Castle crowns a hill at the village of Kaninë, a few kilometres south-east of Vlorë, and its old walls look over the whole city, the bay, the Karaburun peninsula and, to the north-west, the Narta Lagoon. Walls and towers survive on the hilltop, and the view at sunset is the reason to come; ask locally about the site’s long history. Drive or take a taxi up from the city, and wear good shoes for the rough paths.
