Buses run frequently from Tirana to Shkodër, taking about two hours. From Shkodër, minibuses go to Theth in summer, usually leaving early in the morning, and to Koman for the ferry to Fierza and Valbona; your guesthouse can book them. By car, the road to Theth is now asphalted, but drive carefully. In winter, check whether the mountain roads and guesthouses are open. Many travellers do the classic loop: Koman ferry, Valbona, the pass to Theth.
