About Fatih Mosque, Durrës
The Fatih Mosque, known locally as the Small Mosque or the Old Mosque, was completed in 1502, the year after the Ottomans took Durrës, which makes it one of the oldest mosques in Albania. It was declared a cultural monument in 1973. It is small and simple, a contrast to the large modern Grand Mosque in the city centre, and stands within the area of the old walls. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times; dress modestly.
