About Lëkurësi Castle
Lëkurësi Castle was built in the 16th century by the Ottomans on the hill above Sarandë to control the road and the bay. Today it houses a restaurant with a panoramic view over the bay, Corfu and the Butrint lagoons, and it is the place to watch the sunset over the Ionian. Drive or take a taxi up, as the walk is steep. Book a table for dinner in summer, and stay to see the lights of the town come on.
