The Gorica Bridge crosses the Osum river to the quieter Gorica quarter, mostly Christian in Ottoman times. First built of wood around 1780 by Ahmet Kurt Pasha and rebuilt in stone in the 1920s, the seven-arch bridge is 129 metres long; legend says the original hid a dungeon where a girl was starved to appease the river spirits. From Gorica you get the classic view back across the river to the windows of Mangalem. Cross at dusk, when the lights come on.
