About Bachelors’ Mosque
The Bachelors’ Mosque, Xhamia e Beqarëve, was completed in 1828 in lower Mangalem, by the river, and was traditionally used by the unmarried young men who worked in the town’s shops. It has two floors, arcades on three sides, a low minaret and paintings inside dated 1927–1928, and it forms part of the UNESCO site. Look at its painted façade on the way between the riverside promenade and the Mangalem lanes. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times.
